Taste: Well-rounded, sweet and subtle flavour that intensifies slowly, and offers a sensuous, lengthy aftertaste with notes of plum. A pleasing dryness at the finish is rounded out by notes of cinnamon.

During his reign in the 10th Century, King Gagik I of the Armenian kingdom of Vaspurakan chose the small island of Akhtamar on Lake Van for his residence. He had a magnificent palace built, surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards. The island itself traces its name to a legend about a love between Princess Tamar and a handsome young man who drowned in the severe waters of Lake Van. Legend has it that his last words were: “Ah, Tamar…”
